Who We Are
The UMC group of organizations work towards professionalizing local government management in India and other countries across South Asia. UMC provides technical assistance and support to local governments and facilitates good governance by encouraging the creation, sharing and replication of innovations, by facilitating peer-peer exchanges, by conducting hands-on, practical training and by providing practitioner-based assistance that result in sustainable solutions to local government needs. The UMC group includes Urban Management Centre and Urban Management Consulting Pvt. Ltd. that collaboratively work towards achieving the mission.
Our staff includes experts in urban planning, urban design, environmental planning, engineering, health, civil society, gender, municipal finance, skilling, poverty alleviation- thus offering a unique mix of sectoral capacities to be able to respond to today’s interrelated development challenges.
