Business Description
Over the years, elevators have created a huge impact on modern design and architecture. They have changed the way we transport altogether and made our lives convenient and easier and have also greatly helped disabled people and people with mobility limitations.EMPEROR LIFTS AND ELEVATORS – ELEVATOR MANUFACTURERS IN CHENNAI
Emperor Lifts based in Chennai specializes in the installation and maintenance of personalized home elevators, lifts including other services like doors, cabins, and fixtures.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF ELEVATOR SERVICES OFFERED BY EMPEROR ELEVATORS
Elevators have evolved over the years and there are different types of elevator services to suit our needs, some of the common types of elevators found everywhere include:
1. Passenger LiftsOne of the most common types of lifts found in buildings, passenger lifts are designed specifically to transport people from one floor to another. Passenger elevators usually come in different lift sizes and lift dimensions as per the requirements.
In general, passenger lifts can hold up to 2,500 to 5,000 pounds and in some cases, they can even hold up to 10,000 pounds. Passenger lifts also come with additional features like enabled loudspeakers to play music or announcements, television displays with visual and audio advertising.
The operating mechanism of passenger lifts includes a lift car that moves vertically up and down between the floors at a high speed. Passenger lifts are compact and space-efficient can be seen in most buildings.
2. Freights lift or Goods lift
Emperor elevators – lift manufacturers in Chennai also manufacture and sell Freights lift. Also known as goods lift, these types of lifts are designed specifically to transport only goods. Freight lift is mostly used in warehouses, industries, seaports, and shopping malls.
Freight lift dimensions are designed in such a way to carry heavy loads, usually more than what a passenger lift can carry. Freight lift sizes along with rugged interiors make sure the goods are protected from any wear and tear while being unloaded from the cargo.
Freight lift dimensions and freight lift sizes vary as per the requirements.
3. Dumb waiter lift
Another common type of lift includes dumb waiter lifts, which also serve the same purpose as a freight lift. Dumb waiter lifts also referred to as lazy waiters are commonly used to transport food from floor to floor.
They are usually small in size and can be accessed by a small panel on the wall much like a mini passenger elevator.
Dumb waiter lifts were originally invented by George W Cannon in the year 1883. From what was just a simple rope and pulley design, it was then later upgraded and still used in most places today.
Dumb waiter lifts are usually found in kitchen settings like hotels, restaurants, and bars. They can also be used in other settings such as offices or hospitals.
4. Service Lifts
Service lifts are often confused with freight elevators. Service lifts dimensions are designed in such a way to carry and transport goods effectively and efficiently. They are usually found in workplaces to help the employees to get their work done in a shorter span of time.
Service lifts eliminate manual labor and save both time and effort. These types of lifts are very much useful to industries like hospitals, warehouses, pharmacies, restaurants, and offices
5. Hydraulic lifts
Hydraulic elevators are designed with a pistol at the bottom of the elevator which pushes the elevator up as an electric motor forces oil or another hydraulic fluid into the piston. As the valve releases the hydraulic fluid from the piston, the elevator descends.
Hydraulic lifts are usually used in buildings with 2 to 8 floors and operate at a maximum of 200 feet per minute. The hydraulic elevators machine room is located at the bottom level right next to the elevator shaft
Conventional Hydraulic Elevators - Conventional Hydraulic Elevators usually consist of a sheave that extends below the floor of the elevator pit, which admits the retracting as the elevator inclines. In some cases, there is a telescoping piston that collapses and requires a shallow hole behind the pit. Conventional Hydraulic Elevators can travel a maximum of 60 feet.
Hole-less Hydraulic Elevators - These types of elevators consist of a piston on either side of the cab. In this case, the telescoping pistons are usually fixed at the base of the pit and do not require any sheave or hole below the pit. Telescoping pistons usually allow a maximum of 50 feet distance and in the case of non- telescopic pistons, it only allows about 20 feet of travel distance.
Roped Hydraulic Elevators- These types of elevators use a combination of piston and ropes to move the elevator. They can usually travel a distance of about 60 feet.
Compared to other elevator types, hydraulic elevators have lower initial cost and maintenance costs but however, hydraulic elevators use more energy than other types of elevators since the electric motor works against gravity and force the hydraulic fluid into the piston.
However, on the downside, the hydraulic fluid in hydraulic elevators can sometimes leak resulting in serious environmental hazards. The high energy use and environmental hazard are the two major reasons why hydraulic elevators were not installed too often in the past.
It is very essential to the dynamics of the building before installing elevators or lifts. Since commercial and residential buildings require different lift dimensions and lift sizes. Even though elevators are expensive, they are more of an investment that adds to our convenience and ease in our everyday lives but there are many factors that are to be considered when deciding the best one suited for us.
