Feeding Section: The process begins with the feeding section, where rolls of linerboard and corrugated medium are loaded onto the machine. These rolls serve as the primary raw materials for producing corrugated cardboard.
Single Facer: In the single facer section, the corrugated medium is moistened to make it pliable. It then passes through heated rollers that shape the medium into a series of parallel ridges or flutes. Simultaneously, adhesive is applied to one side of the fluted medium.
Gluing Station: The linerboard is fed through a gluing station where adhesive is evenly spread onto one side. The fluted medium and the glued linerboard are then brought together, with the flutes facing outward, to form a single-faced corrugated board.
Double Facer: The single-faced board proceeds to the double facer section, where the second linerboard is attached to the exposed side of the fluted medium. The combined layers pass through a series of heated rollers that bond them together firmly, creating a solid sheet of corrugated cardboard.
Cutting and Stacking: After the corrugated board is formed, it undergoes cutting and stacking processes to produce sheets of desired lengths and dimensions. These sheets can then be further processed into various packaging products, such as cardboard boxes, trays, and displays.
