Jamie Young Jeter and David Jeter, both artists with a love of travel, took a day excursion to Mexico in May 1997, where they packed their van with unusual gardening pots they found in a roadside shop.When they returned to Los Angeles, they promptly sold the entire haul to a local florist. Recognizing an underserved market, they began designing and manufacturing their own line of flower pots, only to discover that the rustic, handcrafted quality would make distinctive lamp bases, and the Jamie Young Company was born.
